Working with an animation company in Nashville, I was tasked with animating a spider spinning a web that bears the message "Happy Spring". I designed the web and animated it and the spider, and I'm most proud of devising the particular order in which the spider spells the letters in the message.

There's a lot going on in this video, but the spider and web are the only elements I did. (The spider starts in the lower right corner and climbs up the tree trunk to begin her mission.)

There's a Facebook group for fans of these animated landscapes, and I loved reading some of the comments there:

"First she spun P I G so I was waiting for the S O M E above it, but they fooled us with the HAPPY SPRING!"

"I'm spending far too much time watching that spider!"

"I was so mesmerized by the spider spinning its web that nothing else matters. Great job on that!"

"Personally the spider weaving the web wins the prize for the most detailed activity yet. Delightful!"

"I wonder how long the designer sat watching a spider to see just how it built a web! I think this is one of the most detailed things that these talented folks have ever done!"

"I will never break up a spider web again!"

"If I could I would take the creator of the spider and web out to lunch. You are a genius."
