Last seen rearranging themselves in Laurie Keller’s previous book “The Scrambled States of America”, now the U.S. states are putting on a talent show! But just when Indiana (the director) is about to call “Showtime!”, Georgia gets a bad case of stage fright and can’t perform in her juggling act. Will the show go on, or will it be curtains?

The film The Scrambled States of America Talent Show is based on the book of the same name, written and illustrated by Laurie Keller. Galen Fott adapted, directed, and animated. The music is composed by Jon Carroll. The film is produced by Linda Lee, Paul R. Gagne, and Melissa Reilly Ellard at Weston Woods Studios. Running time is 20:19.

REVIEWS AND PRAISE

“In this hilarious animated version of Laurie Keller’s book, the idea for a talent show comes to New York in a dream. Keller’s wacky cartoon illustrations come to life, while lively big band music and clever asides add to the fun. Use this entertaining pick to enrich a state unit or before a school talent show.” -- School Library Journal

“With some geographical facts slipped in among the silly antics, the film is instructive as well as amusing, and features some splendid bits.” -- Video Librarian

“A fun way to introduce kids to the states of the US. Colorful and fast moving.” -- KIDS FIRST! Adult Jurors

“The best of these episodes is in my opinion the Do Unto Otters story, which focuses on manners and getting along with others. My children on the other hand would probably politely disagree and vote for The Scrambled States of America Talent Show.” -- Video Vault online review of “The Scrambled States of America and More Stories by Laurie Keller”
